15 to 17 Year Old Off Road Driving Lessons

ABS DRIVING SCHOOL offer  “Head Start” driving lessons to under 17's with fully qualified, experienced, CRB checked driving instructors, who are insured and will give the same driving lessons that you would normally do when you are 17.

The private road system that ABS Driving School use, is a total length of 2.5km of carriageway .

The Road layout, which generally has appropriate road markings, is intended to reproduce urban road conditions.

It is not accessible by the general public, and the lessons will therefore be more relaxed than  on an open road.

All you need to be is 15 years plus and be able to read a vehicle registration number at 20 metres, you do not need a provisional licence, to take part in the under 17 driving lessons.

You will be properly briefed in accordance with the Highway Code.

The relevant health & safety issues, that cover pre 17 driving.

So by the end of your training you will come away with all the basics of motor vehicle safety and control.

You will be in groups of 3 during the pre 17 driving course, each pupil will get plenty of driving practice behind the wheel. Your group will be driving for approximately 3 Hours, but you will get a break as well, and you will get one 2 one instruction, from a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor.

We only use fully trained and fully insured Driving Instructors for the pre 17 driving lessons.

The Under 17 driving lessons can be booked for birthdays, school lessons, private lessons, and special events.

Normally the lessons are booked one month in advance on a Saturday or Sunday.

The cost for  pre 17 driving lessons is £85 per person  per 3 Hour  Session, with 3 sharing a car, and there will be regular change overs.

Private Lessons can be booked 1 to 1  for £150.

Prices include door to door pick up and drop off, (within reason) transport to the site, a pre lesson briefing, and handouts on what you have covered.

You will also receive a copy of the A2OM software, which leads on to a Certificate in Driver Awareness that will also help to pass the Theory Test.

At ABS Driving School we are dedicated to helping you  benefit from your driving lessons and your special day in a safe but fun environment. We will supply you with the best suitable cars and expert instructors available for your driving lessons whilst also delivering value for money.

 

Your commitment to us:

 

Advance booking is required. We usually need at least 3 weeks notice, more in peak times. Once you confirm your driving lesson date, we reserve the car and instructor for that day. Under distance selling laws, you  may change your mind within 7 days of making your payment and receive a full refund, if you  wish to cancel after this time, you will be in breach of contract and therefore we are entitled to retain any monies paid. By emailing ABS Driving School up to 3 weeks prior to the event it may be possible to move your lessons to another date subject to availability. Please leave plenty of time for your journey to the Transport Research Laboritory site and arrive 30 mins before your lessons are due to start. Once you arrive at the Transport Research Laboritory you will be asked to sign a Participant Declaration form which asks you to confirm that you are fit and able to participate in the chosen activity and that you  understand that ABS Driving School will not be held responsible for situations beyond there control.

 

Refunds:

 

ABS Driving School is happy to offer a refund within 7 days of purchase. After 7 days no refund will be available although you may be able to transfer your experience to a different date with more than 3 weeks notice, subject to availability.

 

Adverse weather conditions:

 

Sometimes due to reasons beyond our control (eg. adverse weather conditions) we may have to cancel or suspend certain  lessons on safety grounds. If this happens we will make every effort to run the lessons later that day or on the next available day. We will contact you on the telephone number you provide to inform you of any events being cancelled. ABS Driving School can not be held responsible for any costs incurred in the way of travel/accommodation.

 

Mechanical breakdown:

 

Sometimes due to reasons beyond our control (eg. mechanical breakdown) we may have to cancel or suspend your lessons. If this happens every effort will be made to fix the problem as soon as possible and continue the lesson. If this is not possible an alternative date will be offered.

 

Prices and description of activities:

 

All prices and descriptions of lessons are correct at the time of going to press but ABS Driving School reserve the right to increase or decrease prices at their discretion. This will not affect the use of any lessons already purchased.

 

Height/ weight restrictions:

 

As a guideline we suggest all drivers should be at least 4ft 10 ins tall .

 

Participant declaration form:

 

(All drivers must sign this on arrival before taking part in the event) I agree to take part in the above activity which I understand can be dangerous. I agree to keep indemnified ABS Driving School, their officials, instructors, representatives and agents and any other persons using the facility, from claims of damage to property or myself or passengers however caused.

 

I declare to the best of my knowledge and belief I am physically able to participate in the activity and I do not suffer from any permanent or temporary illness or disability that may affect my ability to take part. I am not currently taking drugs which may interfere with my ability to take part in this activity, and I am not under the influence of alcohol. I will not consume any alcohol from the time I sign this form until the completion of my activity.

 

I accept that no claim can be made against ABS Driving School in respect of the unavailability of the circuit for whatever reason.

 

I agree to listen to the briefing and all instructions given by my instructor and act on the advice given to me. I understand that accidents can happen which may be caused by my driving, which could result in me being liable for the first £1000 of damage.

 

 

Spectators:

 

It is not possible for spectators to attend, due to insurance restrictions, and there is no viewing area.

Pictures and description:

 

Photographs used in all promotional activities are to illustrate each event. The exact cars are subject to availability.

 

Clothing:

 

Please come prepared for all types of weather. Drivers please wear sensible flat soled footwear. (not flip flops or backless shoes) trainers are normally fine.

 

Drivers name changes:

 

The driver who made the booking, can change to another driver, as long as they meet the requirements for eyesight, health and height.
